The start of a change of style and focus for me. Travelled to Malta last year. So beautiful. The artwork moved me. I wanted to bring back to life the incredible passion I saw. The love in the statues and paintings. Hence Victorium which in latin mean Victory. The figure of Jesus was based from a sculpture at St John's cathedral Valleta. Battle between good and evil, light and darkness also the battle between the light and dark of the medium used. Very, very moving experience for me. Arches hot pressed paper, graphite Faber-Castell pencils, matt and derwent. Turned into a passion for me. Felt I had to do this at this time. For personal reasons too
